Benefits of Using Aurorra in Healthcare Textiles

Posted by on
In this blog, we will be looking at the benefits of using an Aurorra fabric in healthcare textiles such as our Aurorra Chairpads, Bedpads and Floorpad range. Aurorra is a synthetic fabric that has been tried and tested within healthcare and used in a variety of textile applications such as bedpads, clothing protectors, patient gowns and bedding. Below are the benefits of using Aurorra within healthcare textiles:
  • Comfortable for users
    • Whilst most healthcare fabrics are either circularly knitted to enhance comfort and stretch or woven to increase durability and stability, Aurorra is warp knitted to enable it to be both durable and comfortable. This makes it a highly suitable fabric for bed pads and chairpads as it brings comfort to the person.
  • Anti-snagging and anti-abrasion properties
    • The warp knitting construction of Aurrora, provides our Aurorra products with strong anti-snagging and anti-abrasion properties, enhancing the lifetime and durability of the fabric.
  • Low shrinkage and retains shape
    • Typically, when you are selecting continence care products like a bedpad, you are going to be washing them at high temperatures when they are soiled, meaning you will need a fabric that can withstand this. Aurorra fabric has properties that make it durable in either residential or commercial laundry settings, making it a great fabric for healthcare applications. Aurorra is robust meaning it has a low risk of shrinkage when washed and will retain its shape, increasing the longevity of the textile and making it more cost-effective for individuals and organisations.
  • High stain-release properties
    • Aurorra possesses high stain-release properties making it a very effective fabric for use in bedpads and chairpads, as it is easier to wash.
  • Good colour retention
    • Healthcare textiles are frequently washed at high temperatures which can over time lead to textiles losing their colour. Aurorra is much more durable fabric when compared to natural fabrics such as cotton, meaning they can withstand more washes and retain their colour to look newer for longer, extending the life of the product.
  • Quick drying surface
    • When it comes to drying, Aurorra is very quick to dry when compared to natural fabrics, meaning less energy is consumed in the drying process of these textiles and therefore leading to cost-savings for the organisation.
